Emiliana Organic Vineyards - Adobe Reserva Rapel Rosé

Emiliana Organic Vineyards - Adobe Reserva Rapel Rosé

Emiliana Organic Vineyards was founded at the end of the 1990s, when Rafael and José Guilisasti realized that the market was beginning to change, and global consumers were beginning to consciously choose the products they were consuming, not just in terms of their health, but also weighing environmental and social effects.

Working with visionary winemaker Álvaro Espinoza, they began converting a conventional Chilean winery into a 100% organic and biodynamic winery, with the firm objective of creating wines of the highest quality while respecting people and the environment.

Emiliana is a passionate about change, which in their case has to do with their commitment to the environment and it includes precluding the use of any synthetic additives, pesticides, fertilizers, and genetically modified organisms. They also follow the principles of biodynamic agriculture so that all the living organisms in the vineyard support each other, with the soils becoming enriched through crop rotation, animal manure, and sound farming practices.

Emiliana has more than 1,000 organically farmed hectares in the most recognized regions of Chile. The Limarí Valley, a dessert climate, has a wide range of diurnal temperatures due to being near the Pacific Ocean and the Humboldt current. Temperatures are moderate and thus ideal for Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir. The Casablanca Valley is best known for its excellent conditions for aromatic, delicate whites. Carmenere is the dominant grape in the Colchagua Valle; other reds like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah do well here. The Mediterranean climate of the Chachapol Valley makes for excellent growing conditions for Syrah. The Maipo Valley is known for its Cabernet Sauvignon but it it is also well suited for the growth of many other varietals. Emiliana‘s Adobe and Novas are made in its Maipo cellar. Their Mulchén estate in the Bío-Bío Valley is their source for vibrant Sauvignon Blanc as well as Pinot Noir and Riesling. The climate here is quite cool, with frost a perennial challenge but also providing an ideal climate for the making of nuanced wines.
