Domaine Vendange - Savoie Chardonnay

Domaine Vendange - Savoie Chardonnay

Located in Combe de Savoie, on the foothills of the Massif des Bauges, Domaine Vendange extends over 10 hectares, on south-facing slopes where the Savoyard grape varieties Jacquère, Altesse, and Mondeuse fully express their authentic typical aromas.

Our vines flourish on the terroir of St Pierre d’Albigny, in the hamlet of Miolanet, within a radius of 1 km around the winery, in what are considered to be some of the youngest soils in the world: just 15,000 years ago, the valley was covered by a glacier.

The Vendange family have been tending to their vineyards for a great many years, but Benjamin and Diane have now taken the bold step of actually vinifying their own production.

They cultivate their vines using integrated agriculture practices, with the greatest respect for terroir and tradition. They focus on sustainable, green practices as much as possible to stay as close as we can to the vines: pruning, disbudding, trellising, and leaf stripping, and they hand-harvest all our grapes at vintage.

Domaine Vendage approach vinification by intervening as little as possible, to allow all the typical features of the terroir and the native grape varieties to shine through.

The domaine operates a modern vat house with temperature-regulated stainless steel tanks that provide the control needed to for optimal vinification. However, oak barrels are used for some wines to provide greater complexity.
