Bottega Spa - Gold Prosecco Brut (200ml)
Bottega Spa is a family company located in Bibano, Treviso (45 km north of Venice) that produces and distributes typical Italian premium quality beverages and food products to a global market. Bottega is a third-generation business and today it is led by Barbara, Sandro, and Stefano Bottega, with the family having been involved in the various aspect of the wines business since 1635.
The headquarters are located in a 19th century farmhouse, renovated to preserve the original architectural and environmental characteristics, and surrounded by 10 hectares of vineyards. The group also manages a winery in Valpolicella and one in Montalcino; here, the great red wines of Veneto and Tuscany, including Amarone and Brunello, are produced.
The company manages several different brands, including Alexander, Bottega, and Cellini. Producing and distributing Italian wine, grappa, spirits and food in over 120 countries around the world, Bottega advocates quality (Italian taste and authenticity), design (expression of the excellent aesthetic character of Made in Italy) and social responsibility towards the environment and the community.
Even though the distinctively blinged out and trademarked mirror packaging for Bottega Gold doesn't carry DOCG on the label, it is entirely DOCG quality fruit. A quirk in the appellation laws (Italy!) dictate that the bottle has to be made of clear glass in a limited range of shades. This glera comes from the hills of Treviso, and is fermented long and cool, partially native, before some time on lees prior to heading to the Charmat tanks for secondary ferment. It was dosed as brut, with 10-12 g/L. Potent and forward with yellow apple, perfumed white peach, pear blossoms, and white melon across a lightly frizzante palate. Lovely balance here in this friendly wine, with all the parts (acid, sugar, fruit) in harmony for drinking now.
