Bodegas Atalaya - Laya Almansa

Bodegas Atalaya - Laya Almansa

Bodegas Atalaya, is a winery located in the border between the Spanish maritime Levant and the flat expanses of La Mancha. Here clusters of Garnacha Tintorera and Monastrell prosper as if by magic, since the old vines seem to thrive in limestone soils of low fertility while enduring little rainfall. Situated a bit more than 700 meters above sea level, the vineyard produces concentrated fruit that yields a burst of tones, flavours, and fragrances. Garnacha Tintorera and its purple pulp play a leading role with its attendant intensity and colour, which combined with the sweetness and robustness of Monastrell, make the wines of this estate rich and memorable.

Bodegas Atalaya is owned by Viñas Familia Gil, a storied winemaker that combines the old ways that know at a glance the promise of new buds, or the pruning required to concentrate the flavours of the fruit, with new techniques to improve the quality and nuance of its wines.
